Hot off the press9th December. Once upon a time I had weekly updates, now I struggle to make it once a month; sheesh! Getting out on some great car and Cadillac runs, getting out dancing a bit too but what with work and a loomin' Xmas...time's short. Have a great Festive Season, see you some time in the New Year.

2 Nov. Struth, how can so much happen in less than a month. Found out Lucy is going to be on a car show poster for an event in Feb 2012, she's going to feature on the new SMASA (Street Machine Association) t-shirt, AND she is also on the cover of a newly released CD. Plus she was displayed at the recent John Waters Movie Festival! I think the beat up old boat is getting more publicity than Paris Hilton these days :)
11 Oct. Had a few emails from people wondering why no Lucy up-dates. Sorry folks, it's the new me, a lot less computer stuff, more 'out doors' stuff - had a fabulous 5 day horse riding gig at Broken Hill over the long weekend, that's the real Steve...oh for a log cabin, kerosene lamps and a horse in the yard.........til next month, ride safe :)
13 Sept. Now I'm back from London I've lots of catching up to do; main thing is I've up-dated the Club Events page with some new items. Big news is ABC TV filming a story about Lucy this Sunday at our Caddy club run. Should be fun :)
21 Aug. After today & until 12th September I'll be in London where (in part) I'll be visiting the Ace Cafe again and also trying to waylay Mr Clarkson at the BBC. I'll reply to any emails ASAP after I return, meanwhile I've added lots of new pics to Friends Cadillacs and some to SA Club Runs.
11 August. Been flooded with emails & photos this week. Lucy was in the US mag, Self Starter, and this resulted in lots of nice emails. It was also Lucille Ball's 100th birthday on the 6th and quite a few people contacted me from around the world about that too; real nice.
4 August. Bit of a Groundhog Day this week as I've added more pics to Friends Cadillacs, a couple more vids to Cadillac Videos, a few extra hearse pics to Dead End, plus a couple more songs; rock on ya'all!
29 July. Big news was being i/viewed for ABC Radio by Peter Goers about Lucy and my book. Was a fantastic experience but as Lucy couldn't get into the radio studio, the studio came to Lucy and we did the i/v in the front seat. Elsewhere I've added more pictures to Friends Cadillacs and a few more music clips here and there.
21 July. Have uploaded about 30 new cars to Friends Cadillacs. Have also created a new section called Cadillac Videos. It's a work in progress but go check it out. On a personal front, 17th July saw me voted back in as Caddy Club Prez for another term :)
12 July. How the heck do you get motivated to do anything when it's so darn COLD! And how do you folks cope with places where it gets down below freezing. And snows! I'm sorry, I just wanna be cruisin' Lucy in the sun so nope, haven't done a thing this week 'cept mope :(
4th July. Happy 4th of July to all my many US friends. Enjoy your summer holiday you'all. I've put up a few new pics and clips here and there, mainly at Friends Cadillacs, but it's the end of the business year and that darn tax man wants more paperwork than an old fashioned New York ticker-tape parade!
24th June. If I said I haven't cleaned Lucy since Tasmania at Easter, nor changed her steelies back to her 'wires', would you understand just how hectic life is. A sorry excuse for there being no web site updates in the past week :(
16 June. More new rides shown at Friends Cadillacs plus a great clip about the new Cadillac station wagon at Book News. A few other random updates here and there.
9 June. Much like last week there have been pics and clips added throughout the site. A few new rides at Friends Cadillacs though if you aint got time to explore.
3 June. I'm gonna keep that salt clip because I never tire seeing it. Lots of pics added here and there over the past week or so, plus some more music clips. Just go off exploring.
25 June. Loaded the video of the Eldo sliding on the salt; what a beauty. Lots of other pics, events and music added all over.
20 May. Have added lots of songs throughout the site, trying to make them as applicable to the section as possible - with a humorous twist. Go check 'em out.
13 May. The movie's finished, the eBook's out, lots of new pics added to SA Caddy Club Runs, Friends Cadillacs, plus a couple of others here and there, as well as a few new sections, Smokin' Hot Music being one of them. Enjoy.
3 May. HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY LUCY! Yes, on 3rd May 1961 Lucy rolled off Detroit's Clarke Avenue Cadillac production line and set off for sunny LA. 50 years and more than 220,000 kilometres later (not counting the boat trip across the Pacific), Lordy that old gal has travelled far and wide. Nope, that's all I'm gonna report this week.
28 Aprl. New section added Who is Lucille Ball; check it out, it speaks for itself (literally). A few extra tunes added here and there, again, go hunt for them :) Biggest thrill was Glenn Shorrock emailing his phone number as he wanted to chat about my book. Wow. Then he tells me he's sorry Lucy was in Tasmania when he was in town for the RnRR and he didn't get to pose with her. We made plans to do this in June. Do you realise how big the Twilights & Axiom were even before LRB? Double wow! (Listen to Twilights at Photo Gallery/Lucy Meets Famous People)
20 Aprl. More Cadillac Tunes added, with a few also sprinkled throughout the site. Movie and eBooks both progressing but time to upload Rock 'n' Roll Rendevouz pics is limited as I head off to Tasmania at 6am tomorrow to drive Lucy home. Yes, another Road Trip, but sheesh, someone has to do it.
14 Aprl. My Lord wait until you see the Lucy Does Tasmania DVD! Stuart Rowe, NSW Funeral Coaches, is a movie making & editing master and his rough first draft is worthy of an Oscar! Details on how to get your free copy will be out soon :) Another biggie this week is Cadillac Tunes; yep loud 'n' live rock 'n' roll comes to BigLucy.com.
8 Aprl. Been tough being home & over 1100 km from faithful ol' Lucy back in Hobart. Still, nice to know another long distance road-trip is fast looming when I fly back to get her and bring her home at Easter. Plenty of pics still to go onto Lucy Does Tasmania so check back every coupla days. (No, she didn't break down, I just couldn't get her back on the ferry at the end of my March road-trip.)
31 Mch. Lordy how things can change. 24 hrs before the Salt Racing was to start (see last entry) it was cancelled. 250 Entrants, many waiting at Pt Augusta, folks from US & NZ, and it didn't happen. Shoot! Not to be outdone my mate Stuart from NSW Caddy Club and I took Lucy to the southernmost tip of Tasmania. Six days pretty much all in a howling gale & floods. Stuart filmed it all and the DVD will be out soon. Stay tuned. Pics at Lucy Does Tasmania.
17&24 Mch. Lucy's off to the Land Speed Salt Racing from 20th-26th so no entries for a little longer than usual. 160 kays of dirt road to Lake Gairdner from Iron Knob, plus the threat of rain, but baby, what an adventure! Yep, I've created a whole new section in antici.........pation!
PS I've added lots more All US Day pics to Club Runs.
10 Mch. I've got a few more All US Day pics up on Club Runs, plus I've started a new section called Cooper Classic Rally for our club's Burra weekend away. I'll do a few pics every day this week (I dread to think how many pics I've got) but I have added a very special one of Leo Pruneau (GM Design) under Lucy Meets Famous People.
3 Mch. Well, I got Karen's '61 pics up on Friends Cadillacs and have made a start on the All American Day pics at SA Cadillac Club Runs, but there's just so little time. I recently saw one of my Facebook friends post "I'm so bored!" Bored? Nope, I have no clue what that word means! Lots more pics to load...must get to it...
24 Feb. What a jaw dropping All American Day we had. 41 Club Cadillacs in total - who'da thought there was that many in Adelaide. Also this week I was sent some great '61 coupe pics by a lady in Christchurch; she sent them 1 hour before the earthquake hit! Karen, her family and Caddy are fine thank goodness. Karen's pics and All US Day pics will be up soon.
17 Feb. Got flown to Melbourne to interview Leo Pruneau this week. We chatted for 5 1/2 hours, Lord knows how much longer we'd have talked if I didn't have a plane to catch. Leo joined GM Design in ..... when?.... yes, 1961. Oh the stories, but again, nothing on the site. Now come on, THAT is one Hell of a good excuse!
10 Feb. I've got a paying gig these days writing for ACP Magazines and it seems every time I finish a story I'm given two more assignments. That's fantastic and I love it, but Lordy it's time consuming. That's 'Steve speak' for "I've done nought on the site this week - not even spell-check."  :)
3 Feb. Can't believe January's visitor numbers, about 50% more than previous highest month ever. Huge. Been contacted by UK mag that wants to run a story. Got a great write up on the Retroautos web-site (see Links Page). Lucy got a great feature in the NZ Cadillac Club magazine. Plus have a read of my book news: yep, it's been a fantastic start to 2011.
28 Jan. Wow, what a week! Aust Day cruise was huge and what an atmosphere. Plus Lucy was the only Cad. Event to be covered by Street Machine Mag soon - pics up next week. Yes, Lucy is back from the shop after her prep for the Salt Racing. Had a few emails of late re Lucy racing on the salt, which is funny; no, Lucy's only going to watch, the prep was for the 160 kays of diabolical dirt road to get to the lake. Watch for pics at end of March.
20 Jan. A few new pics here and there, a new Links to Lucy's Pals section plus, wow, check out Doug's red Ambo at Friend's Cadillacs. Visitor stats have gone thru the roof in Jan and every month recently sets a new record so to those who have mentioned Lucy on forums etc., cheers!
13 Jan. Due to the shocking QLD floods and in respect to the tragic deaths occuring in so many places Lucy has travelled thru, I don't think it's 'right' to report some Lucy triviality here. Let's pray things are better for the country next week.
6 Jan. A mate sent me a photo of his pink '61 coupe at the Big Pineapple that I had to put on the site asap; check out Friends Cadillacs and see why. Also had some great emails from some long term Caddy Club members about my Record Breaking Cadillac claim that were very supportive; thanks guys.
29 Dec. Hope you had a great Festive Season. Lucy had her usual Christmas Day cruise with me & my 4 sons. Five of us with the same sense of humor = non-stop laughter; ho ho ho indeed. Was interesting how the web site hits took a huge jump Christmas Day, the result of Lucy's web address being plastered across the back window. Have a great NYEve and drive safe, ya'hear.
22 Dec. Merry Christmas! The site's 1st anniversary slipped by me; can't believe it's been a year. All the best to those who visit regularly. Big thanks to everyone who sent positive emails from all around the world - wonderful. There's more excitement ahead for Lucy in 2011; off to the Salt Racing in March, plus a couple of surprises & surprise announcements - it'll be good so you'all keep on coming back, ya'hear. PS I've got a few new pics up at Friends Cadillacs.
16 Dec. Just spent 6 days in Sydney, mostly with Caddy Club people, so not much done this week. The site's visitor stats are worth reporting though as October set a new record, November came in just a few below that, but now December has smashed all previous records. Oh if only every new visitor bought a book :)
8 Dec. Four top rock 'n' roll Cadillac Sundays in a row - Yeeha! Only took 2 pics at the latest, Uraidla, 'cause I was too busy dancin'. Got lots of Friends Cadillacs up recently though, plus by the time you read this Clayton Bay should be uploaded to Club Runs.
2 Dec. Fab run with Caddy Club to Clayton Bay last weekend. Will get pics up on SA Club Runs soon. A few updates to Events page done for a few new events in 2011. Nope, never heard back from that darn NSW radio station. Gotta run now; time to get Lucy ready for this weekend's rock 'n' roll hot rod picnic - Yeeha!
25 Nov. Got some pics up in SA Club Runs and more at Friends Cadillacs. Had a nice email from a school girl who'd been looking at the site with some friends - she pointed out some speeling mistakes. Also got an email from a NSW Radio Station about doing an on-air interview...will see, as the last 'promise' like this fell through. BTW my book would make a nice present for someone; it's gift warpped for free!
18 Nov. Had a great club day out at the Glenelg Rock'n'Roll Festival on Sunday but, no surprise, I haven't got the pics up yet. Have got some new photos at Friends Cadillacs, with a few from a pretty lady in Denmark, Hanne, who owns a '59 she calls Lady Patina (love that name!).
11 Nov. Here's a Rememberance Day salute to every Digger that ever served Australia. All wars are Hell but those WWI blokes in particular are legends! We've got a couple of Vietnam vets in our SA club - salutes to you Peter & Bill.
4 Nov. Got quite a few pics up of Club run to Lyndoch 2 weeks ago (see SA Club Runs). More to go though. Also added pics to About Us Friends Cadillacs. Been an insane week, plus I got a legit journalist gig - shoot has that been time consuming! (I'll tell you when it hits the newstand.)
28 Oct. Had the best of intentions to load pics of our club run to the world famous Barossa Valley last Sunday...maybe in the next few days? More great emails lately, some super compliments...one of the best was the guy who said he tried to avoid the site because once here he spends way too long looking around.
21 Oct. Be prepared for a shock, yep, more pics; this time to 'Caddy Club Runs' plus 1/2 doz or so to 'Friend's Cadillacs'. On another tack, September saw my web site set a record for new visitor numbers and now October has already broken that record. Yeeha.
13 Oct. I've put up a heap of pics from my August road trip to Darwin (see Darwin or Bust!). I've also had some fabulous feedback about the pics from heaps of overseas visitors. Wonderful.
6 Oct. I've created a new section SA Cadillac Club Runs where there'll be a mish-mash of photos from my club's various events. It's a shame the computer juggles the pics so they aren't in proper order but maybe that'll make it more interesting? Also; I've had two American strangers (1 from Washington, 1 from Texas) email me this week raving about this site, fantastic they found it & liked it.
23 Sept. Spring's sun arrived at last and yesterday was spent outside pampering Lucy. Cleaned her wires and white walls and got them back on at last. Now she looks more like her old Hollywood-star self, rather than a trailer trash hooker in Ugg boots. But I do like that bare steel wheel look... Oh, re the site, up-dated my Big Thing list to include the NT shots & now I have 117. Also got a few other pics up here & there.
17 Sept. Had a great day with the Caddy Club last Sunday-my 1st as President-and we had 22 Cadillacs turn up. I finally managed to unpack all my camping gear out of Lucy, so I didn't drag it along on the club run; now I've just got to change the wheels back. Yep, still haven't done it.
8 Sept. Poor Lucy, a couple of days after I got back from Darwin I gave her a shower & shampoo, but since then she's been sorely neglected and sits in her garage, camping gear still in the trunk, lights, lantern & swag in the back. Still got her 'steelies' on too. You deserve better old girl; but you know I love ya.
2 Sept. Back from 34 degree Darwin and Lucy didn't miss a beat for 6680 kays. LOVE that car! So much news, so many fabulous encounters. Have got to get the pics up soon. One anecdote was bumping into a Sydney professional photograph who was amazed at finding Lucy Outback. We did a photo session at dawn; wait til you see those pics!
12 Aug. Only a few days before I head off to Darwin & apart from having Big Lucy serviced, tuned and massaged I've done no prep at all. Ridiculous. The old girl looks weird with her bare steel wheels and light truck tyres but she's sure to still attract attention. If you see us, make sure you wave, ya'hear. Oh, and if you're reading this from overseas, Adelaide to Darwin is 6000kays/4000miles across a pretty much deserted Oz!
5 Aug. Getting ready for Darwin; organising my first Cadillac Club committee meeting as President; been made Life Member (only the 7th) of another car club I've been in since Moses was on his P plates with stuff to do for that; plus book sales flooding in thanks to the fabulous RM Williams 'Outback' magazine and hence this site has suffered badly. And to think I've been critical of other sites that never get updated - oh the shame.
26 July. So much news! First, I'm now National Cadillac Club (SA) President. Next; been a bit remiss with updates due to getting Big Lucy ready for her Cannonball Run to Darwin. Got some nice new 4WD tyres on steel rims on the gal and she's all checked out and ready to rumble. Shoot, I should run a sweep to see who can guess my fuel bill for this 6000 kay madness. Oh, and wait til you read my latest 'book' news!!!
15 July. I've decided to run for Cadillac Club President at our AGM on Sunday. Is this the thinking of a madman? Aren't I busy enough? Results and pics soon...("Heard that one before," I hear you say.)
8 July. I've put the first couple of pages of my book on this site now - see The First Few Pages of My Book. This was a tip from my publisher. Now to find time for some fresh pics...
1st July. Happy New Year! (if you own a business that is.) Lucy's still getting lots of new visitors to her site; that's great. Meanwhile more apologies to you regulars...something new soon...honest.
26th June. I should be shot, nothing new for two weeks; but I run my own business and end of year Tax is due...need I say more? Got some great pics to add as soon as I can.
10th June. Well, apart from creating a flood of birthday greetings, my silly claim last week about knocking off eBay has resulted in me doing ziltch with Lucy's Vintage Emporium. I did sell a sixties record player though as one 'regular' phoned to see what I was selling. (No, don't go looking for a number here, this person knew me.)
3rd June. Mrs Westmacott gave birth to her son Stephen tomorrow (tomorrow quite a while back) so here's a H/B to all you other Geminis. Big news this week is my attempt to outgun eBay with Lucy's Vintage Emporium. Just got to stock the shelves is all. It will eventually have garage, car & rock n'roll 'stuff', vintage clothes, bathers and even some lingerie, all picked up during years of road trippin'. So all you Vintage folks keep your eyes peeled 'cause there'll be no bidding, just fair prices. Stay tuned.
27th May. How scary is this internet thing; Scott got his book. Phew. At least this shows I'm serious about customer service. Speaking of which, I've added around 20 new pics to Bathurst Nats, as well as a few others here & there.
23rd May. Attention Scott G. You bought a book a week ago but haven't given any delivery instructions. Please email me. Apart from that I've created a new section called Lucy's Braggin' Rights.
18th May. Apologies 2 weeks in a row now as I have been in Brisbane QLD getting certification as a women's fitness instructor. Nearly a week without talkin' Caddies, cars or rock n'roll - dont know how I did it! A decent update soon...honest.
6th May. If travel at the speed of light is impossible, then surely my life is flashing by just under it. If you haven't visited for a week or so there's lots to see, but if your're a regular, my apologies as my time this week has gone to the Cad Club.
29th April. Added more pics to the Bathurst Nationals, to Places You Dont See Cadillacs & Four Points of the Compass. The pics relative to the email from 23 April (below) have also been added to Buy My Book. (Jim, you're my hero!)
23rd April. More folks added to Famous People and to the Bathurst Nationals, but the big news is getting this email "We are off on a camping trip in the Caddie tomorrow and away till next Tuesday. Took advice from your book Steve. Leaving the caravan in the shed."
15th April. Just as well I've no webcam or you'd see me crying as I tried to get all the shuffled pics sorted. I'd tell you how big a mess it was but I don't want to use the 'F' word. Have added quite a few folks to 'Lucy Meets Famous People'. Oh, and one Nats pic in Bathurst 2010 National Rally.
6th April. Thanks to all you lovely folks who emailed and yes, all of my 100s of photos I've spent months putting up have been muddled & shuffled. What a mess. I'm slowly working thru it and at last can upload some Nats pics.
2nd April. I still can't upload pics; ahh! Good news is I'm starting to record some of the emails I'm getting about my book at 'Buy My 'Big Lucy' Book'. 25th March.Struth, got about 300 pics from the Caddy Nats but my web site guru is making a few improvements and I can't put them up. Flat tyres, breakdowns, a 100 years of Caddies, Big Things, the Top of Australia.....soon...soon.
7th March. No up-dates for two weeks as we're off to the Cadillac Nationals at Bathrust and then Mt Kosciuszko (so I can scratch another destination off my Four Points Of The Compass list).
4th March. Added a swag of pics to I've Never Heard A Volvo Song and within the next day or so will add more of me & Helen at Sun Studios and Graceland, Memphis. Also added pics to How To Have a Road Trip, plus Caddy Friends.
26th Feb. Added a new section All American Day. Be careful before you check it out; if you don't own a Caddy it will make you buy one, if you do own a Caddy but are in another club; well, best you don't look. Had lots of people send me pics and these are scattered about. Am also selling a lot of Big Lucy books & getting some great reveiws. Keep it up!
19th Feb. Well, my books have arrived (see Book News) but a 2nd week has flashed past. I have received some fantastic emails of late, and a few photos, which is super encouraging. I managed to add some pics to Lucy Goes to the Movies, plus the odd pic here and there. How busy have I been? The All American car show is a little over 24 hours away and I haven't even cleaned Lucy.
11th Feb. Well, it had to happen and there's no up-date for the first week for a long time. Movie of the Week is picked, likewise an addition to Lucy's Diner is ready, plus I've stacks of photos to scan, but...  You can help me though, send in some pics of your Cadillac weddings.
4th Feb. Added a few pictures to just about every section over the last week. Created Masonic Lodge, Drive 2 Survive and Cadillac Weddings (send in pics of your Cadillac weddings!), plus will have Movie of the Week No. 9 done before midnight! (I haven't missed a deadline yet.)
28th Jan. (Phew, only just made it before midnight.) Movie of the Week No.8 is up. Not one but two new sections, Lucy's Cadillac Diner and If It Hadn't Been For Cadillac, plus filled out What's a LaSalle.
21st JanCadillac Movie of the Week has been done on time - 7th week in a row. Also added a new section called Dead End, added lots of pics to Early Cadillacs and done heaps on Tips on Buying a Cadillac. Plus great news on my book's progress (reported under 'The Book').
14th Jan. You have to wonder how a week can go so fast! Done Movie of the Week and created three new catergories; Early Cadillacs, Tips on Buying Cadillacs & Cadillacs For Sale. Will have to see how these go. Also been busy setting up the system for you to buy my book (soon).
8th Jan. Where the heck did that week go? Book, business, family & friends have devoured the last 7 days but I have done 'Movie of the Week' and up-dated where my book is at.
New Year's Day! It's tough being obsessive. Had to do 'Movie of the Week' in addition to what I did yesterday (see below).
30th Dec. Big day & night; too many parties, not enough personalities. Have fixed So You Want To Restore A Cadillac and have added a few pics to Lucy's Treasures and Friends Cadillacs. Spent 4 hours on a professional photo shoot today (yes, in 42 degree heat) for a soon to be released CD. The photos are out of this world and will be a separate subsection of their own - Lucy Goes To The Movies - in a week or so.
23rd Dec. Been busy with the book but managed to do Movie of the Week No.3, a few more Cadillac Friends, Lucy's Treasures, and around nine pics in Lost History. Warning; don't check Lost History if you're feeling blue, it might trip you over the edge.
Earlier: Have added to Lucy's TreasureLost History and Helen's Cadillac, also created a new section So You Want To Restore A Cadillac. Tough part is finding the time to add things. A little something goes on most days - play "Where's Wallly" trying to find it. Oh, and to those people who have emailed saying the 2nd Movie of the Week will be Pink Cadillac...wrong!
13th Dec. Working on getting more information and pictures on a few of the newer pages. If there's a particular section you'd like to see filled out quicker - email. Feedback is always apprecaited.

10th December. Created two new pages - Cadillac Movie of the Week and Lucy's Treasures. Been working flat out on the book deadline so things have been a bit quiet on the site for the last few days.

Still got a heap of Big Things pics to add.

Earlier: Added some pics to Helen's Cadillac, Lost History, a couple of Caddy Friends and up-dated Caddy Club Events.
Earlier: I've created a few new pages, for Helen's Lola, about the history of the fin, history of Cadillac, and a page for friends Cadillacs too. Lots more to do with these, but it's a start.
Earlier: I hope to get you folks to come back once a week or so to check out what's happening on Lucy's site. To make that easier for you I'll be recording here what's new. Sorry, but telling you there will be regular new stuff is all that's new at the moment.
