Saturday Night at the Movies
Okay, so it was a blisteringly hot week day afternoon rather than a Saturday night, and we didn't actually see a film...
Peter Tilbrook, of Masters Apprentices fame, was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer a while back. After beating it he decided to compile an entire CD of rockin' songs 'Boomers' would like and then donate the profits to Prostrate Cancer research. More than this though, one of the songs 'The Prostrate Blues' is actually about Peter's brush with the cancer and Peter hopes this will raise the awareness of men over 40 to their prostate.
While the 19 song CD was being pressed Peter asked me if he could use Lucy for photos for the 12 page book going inside the CD. Of course I agreed. The day of the professional photo shoot turned out to be 38 degrees. Ouch. The photographer had us at two sites, the Piccadily Theatre in North Adelaide, and the Capri at Goodwood. The photo shoot went for about five hours. Lordy it was hot.
Sadly, none of the wonderful photos taken got into the CD booklet due to printing deadlines. Peter was apologetic about this but hey, I just laughed as I knew all about printing angst from dramas with my own book.
It was still a wonderful experience and I had a lot of fun on the day with Peter, Davvo and Davvo's partner Jes.
Oh, and don't feel too bad about Lucy not being in the CD booklet, after all SHE IS IN ONE OF THE SONGS! (Go buy a CD - 'Let's Go To The Movies' - and hear it for yourself).
